Door Casings

Installation of Door casings

Removing the lugs form the door casing - using a hand saw
METHOD: whilst wearing the correct PPE, cut the lugs off flush with the outside of the door casing legs using the hand saw

Positioning fixing of the door casing - using a screw gun and spirit level
Place the door casing into the structural opening and pack it equally on each end of the head, ensure that the door casing over hangs the material it is been fixed to equally over its depth, fix one side of the door casing just below the head using the screw gun, level up the head of the door casing using a spirit level, fix the other leg just below the head using the screw gun, plumb up a leg of the door casing over both its depth and section using the spirit level, place packers where required so the door casing is solid against the material it is been fixed to, fix the leg of the door casing using the screw gun, repeat the sequence to the other leg of the door casing

On sites where three story dwellings are present, it is necessary when plumber has finished on the first level, the joiner is requested to put down flooring and to fit the stairs to allow plumber safe working access for second floor.
